California’s push toward a zero-emissions future is still trucking forward, and hydrogen fuel has begun to emerge as an essential part of that clean energy vision for the state. In partnership with OneH2, Pacific Clean Fuels is forging ahead with an innovative new model that is transforming the way hydrogen is produced, stored, and delivered throughout the Central Valley.
With OneH2’s cutting-edge hydrogen trailers and mobile fuelers, we’re providing flexible, scalable, and cost-effective access to hydrogen fuel for fleet operators, industrial facilities, and municipalities.
In this post, we’ll learn how OneH2 trailers fit into California’s rapidly evolving hydrogen economy, the advantages of mobile fueling, and how these innovations impact the future of sustainable operations and transportation as a whole.
Building the Backbone of the Hydrogen Ecosystem
At the core of this clean energy revolution is an integrated hydrogen ecosystem built for efficiency and scalability. Starting in 2026, OneH2 will produce 2,000 kg of hydrogen per day and will start developing the capacity to scale to hundreds of tons daily, from its state-of-the-art facility in Bakersfield, CA, using steam methane reforming (SMR). This central hub will provide hydrogen fuel throughout the I-5 corridor up to Stockton.
But this solution for hydrogen production solves only one of the barriers to more widespread hydrogen fuel adoption—there’s also the challenge of accessibility. To ensure hydrogen is available for diverse applications—long-haul trucking, heavy equipment, forklifts—Pacific Clean Energy is deploying OneH2 trailers and mobile fuelers. These innovative transport and fueling systems allow businesses to store, move, and dispense hydrogen safely right where it’s needed, without the need for fixed infrastructure.
OneH2 Trailers: Mobile, Modular, and Ready to Fuel
OneH2 trailers are the powerhouses behind this mobile fuel delivery system. They are designed for maximum performance and safety and built with a max working pressure of 930 bar (13,500 psl). With their modular carrier system, these trailers enable operators to scale delivery capacity. Each carrier holds three Type IV cylinders, each containing 80 kg of hydrogen.
Among the many benefits of OneH2 trailers, here are some of the most important:
- Plug-and-play operation: No on-site compression or processing required.
- Minimal waste: High-pressure storage diminishes the storage footprint and loss of excess fuel.
- Flexible and compatible: Trailers work with both 350 and 700 bar hydrogen dispensers.
- Portable by design: Ideal for fueling on-site at remote or temporary locations.
The range of advantages and features offered by OneH2 trailers make them an ideal solution for businesses trying to balance lowering emissions while maintaining peak operational efficiency.
